Pot-luck Dinner and Carol Singing
to get us in the mood for Christmas
Friday, December 13, 5:30 pm.
The enthusiastic singing of Christmas carols in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment has been shown to lower blood pressure, raise serotonin levels, and shake your belly like a bowl full of jelly. Research suggests that these positive health benefits can be completely independent of the participant’s religion – or lack thereof. Just the thing for the dark time of the year. Who knew?!
So let’s get together and raise the rafters of the Blockhouse School kitchen. We’ll have songsheets and a loud instrument (piano and/or accordion) to lead the way. Other instruments are welcome, including percussion. (Do you hear what I hear? The Little Drummer Boy!)
Food to share (with a list of ingredients for non-omnivores please)
A couple of dollars to help pay for heating the room.
(Optional) Instrument(s), including drums and rattles
(Optional) A festive decoration for the table or some other spot (you can take it home again).
