We got a couple of coldframes started on July 22.

We used pallets for the base, and covered them on the bottom with landscape fabric to help contain the soil, as these coldframes will be sitting on gravel or asphalt.

Re-used windows go on top.

We ended up putting one of the coldframes in front of the portable classroom which will be our winter office. That wall faces due south.

The other coldframe is being built right against the wall of the school facing the parking lot.

The plan is to insulate the walls with styrofoam and to add greenhouse plastic over the windows. See photo captions for details. We’ll make updates here.
