RE: Proposed Sale of Property for Less than Market Value (Blockhouse School)
The Blockhouse School tenants have turned out to be spectacular neighbours to me and to families of the charity Hinchinbrook Farm Society that operates on my property.
The children like to ride over to the school and see themselves astride the horses reflected in the windows that encircle the school. If people are there at the Blockhouse School attending an event or they walk over to talk to the kids. This creates a positive social opportunity for the riders. Every one has given the riders a welcome. Parents report later that their child told them about meeting people while riding. This is a positive step for children who rarely communicate.
The changes throughout the seasons at the Blockhouse school have been amazing to witness by riders their parents, and volunteers. A few families have volunteered at work projects at Blockhouse school. I see the interest in the education on sustainable living, gardening, and community that the Blockhouse School attracts.
This winter I was one member of a committee willing to repair the play ground at the Blockhouse School for children in the community however with the proposal to start a C & D Dump that MODL staff is recommending the needs of the children of this community had to be dropped to work against the dump. I can not go back to helping community children have a safe play ground at the Blockhouse School until the business man withdraws his application and removes an acre of shredded tires that MODL allowed him to dump and bury.
In conclusion I support the transfer of the property known as the Blockhouse school to South Shore Ventures.
