Calling all artists, builders, makers, gardeners, experimenters and recyclers
At The Blockhouse School Project we are brainstorming alternative uses for all the once-valuable old books that are being hauled away daily as collectible waste. We would like you to brainstorm with us! We will be hosting an exhibition, New Life for Old Books during the Bridgewater Growing Green Festival.
We are interested in your creations made from old books: art, craft, garden, construction, installations, performance… anything else you can think of!
Use your own old book(s) or come to The Blockhouse School Project anytime and experiment/create with the thousands of rescued books we have on site.
E-mail Karen Langlois (email hidden; JavaScript is required) for more information, to talk about your idea or to arrange to submit your work.
Or contact David Cameron (902 792-1667, email hidden; JavaScript is required) to visit The Blockhouse School Project and talk about your idea for an on-site project.
The exhibition will open August 17, 2013 along with the CommuniTEA and Tiny Studio Raffle draw being held at The Blockhouse School on August 17, in conjunction with the Growing Green Festival in Bridgewater.

And here’s an amazingly cool idea: a dress made out of a book.
