Ripe haskap berries at the Blockhouse School, June 2014

Liam Tayler of LaHave Natural Farms will be coming to The Blockhouse School on Tuesday July 8 to give a presentation about growing Haskap berries at 2 pm, during the Farmers’ Market and the Permaculture Design Course.

These highly nutritious and delicious berries are new to Canada, and LaHave Natural Farms has been pioneering their establishment in Nova Scotia where they are one of the first berries to ripen in June!

Learn about the berry, growing conditions, how to grow your own haskap bushes, and what to do with them after you pick them – if you don’t just eat them all out of hand, that is.
