Portrait Photography
Learn how to take beautiful, creative portrait photography of your friends and family, at home or at your next special occasion!
Instructor Valérie Leduc covers basic techniques such as composition, lighting, angles, plus special tips and tricks.
This class will help you gain the confidence you need to make a noticeable improvement in the quality of your portrait pictures.
Composition, lighting, subject, message and emotion are the hallmarks of the artistic portrait.
Art History projects for Youth
In this class, participants are encouraged to look at art making in a new way, as we explore a variety of techniques and mediums discovered via the amazing “History of Art”. Building an artistic project in the medium of their choice, participants will learn how to take a project from beginning to end during the 6 weeks of classes, with a presentation of finished work on the last day for family and friends. Instructor Valérie Leduc shows us how to draw inspiration from the past to make something new today. This is art as you have never seen it before!
Artistic Photography
Instructor Valérie Leduc shows participants how to approach photography as a fine-art medium within contemporary art practice.
This course emphasizes the development of your artistic vision, encouraging you to explore a broad range of issues and styles. We will look at the history of photography, at different styles of photography, when and how photography became “Art”, and artistic photography today.
Throughout the 6 week course, we will take many photographs, learning though critiques and practice how to use artistic photography to improve your own pictures.

Let me tell you a bit about myself.
After getting a degree in finance and working for ten years for big companies such as Bombardier, I had a dream. I wanted to explore my creative side. I wanted to have more time for my family and become my own boss. So, I decided to develop my passion for photography and make it a career. I found a spot back behind the school desk, and in 2010 I earned a degree in Commercial Photography from the reputed Marsan College in Montreal. With my diploma in hand, I started my own studio in Laval, QC and gained experience with different types of photography. I bounced between commercial photography, weddings, children and others. Then came the Burlesque! I discovered a passion for that style of photography. Making women happy and having fun with them is a pure pleasure.
Life is what it is… After spending vacations with my family in Nova Scotia, I fell in love with this amazing province. What a fantastic place to raise a family! I’ve been settled in Bridgewater since last June 2013, where I gave birth to my fourth child.
So here I am, enjoying my work, capturing the beauty of the people here in Nova Scotia. I welcome you to my classes. Together we will discover ideas and gifts we never knew we had!
